IDSU Signal Strength Lights Explained

IDSU Signal Strength Lights Explained

The IDSU signal strength lights give you a very good idea of how well a site will function. Whether a site will experience drop offs and what equipment the site will need.

High solid to medium solid signal strength
This strength means that the IDSU is generally strong enough to withstand a semi-truck coming between it and the AP. At high blinking to high solid it can even withstand two semi-trucks coming between the unit and the AP.

Medium blinking
Here the IDSU will drop offline if a larger vehicle, such as a semi, comes between the IDSU and AP. However there is a good chance that the IDSU will keep its connection even if a box truck comes between the unit and the AP.

Low
The IDSU will most likely drop offline if a van comes between the unit and the AP. Depending on the angle there are chances that the unit will stay online.

Low Blinking
The unit is disconnecting and reconnecting from the AP, this is not an actual connection.
